The Artist Edge: Exploring Life Through the Eyes of an Artist
Sitting on the edge of the world I can’t help but have a mind full of wonder. I wonder how deep the water is and why every wave is a wave of its own. What amazing sea creatures will venture close enough to be seen, and what about the ones that won’t? With these thoughts, and more, I realize that I am on the edge of the unknown. The invitation to explore the water seems a bit risky but exhilarating all at the same time. As the unknowns can feel quite uncertain, I gaze out on the waters and it somehow becomes the most peaceful place on earth. Perhaps it is due to the perfect, straight line of sea in our view that lies behind the crashing of the waves, bringing a sense of order to the chaos. In this moment, order and chaos collide making it safe to explore, opening the mind to peace and creativity at their finest. As an artist, I am constantly on the edge of the unknown. Every blank canvas is a shore of its own. At every stage of the picture there are risks to be taken and each layer of the piece is another step into the water. These pictures are the most incredible journeys I have ever been on and with this blog I am inviting you to join me through the tides.
